Everything Happens for a Reason
(I took her out to eat)π
(She was so happy!!)π₯°
Yesterday was a day I'll never forget. We set out early to visit Jay and give him some of his things, but my leg pain became unbearable just two hours into the drive. I was devastated. We had to turn back, and I felt like I'd let Jay down.
π¦΅πΎ π
On our way home, things took a terrifying turn on the interstate. I felt overheated, my chest hurt, my heart raced, and my blood sugar dropped. KeKe tried to help me but nothing seemed to work.
π³π΅π€
"KeKe, I don't feel right," I said, my voice shaking. "My chest hurts, and I can't catch my breath. Call your GG." I turned on the emergency lights because I was driving slowly.

Mama didn't answer so I told her to text and Desi called while KeKe was texting. We told her what was going on and relay the message to Mama. I continued on. At that point; I knew I had to hurry up and get home because help wasn't an option. It would have taken too long and my phone was malfunctioning due to the HEAT!!
π¨π‘☀️π₯
"Try to relax, Mommy," KeKe replied, putting a cold compress on my forehead and she held my hand.

But it only got worse. Our GPS malfunctioned and it sent us to a dead end, and we got stuck in traffic when we made it out. We finally get back on the interstate and a semi almost HIT US!! I was shaken, sick, and scared. I called my mama, trying to hold back tears.

She was still working and couldn't answer my calls at first then she finally picked up.
π
I told her what happened.

"Don't worry, baby," she replied calmly. "We're praying for you. Just try to stay calm and get home safely."
π«
We finally made it home, thanks to God's guidance. My mama had a cool showerπΏ, fan on and dinner ready for us, which was a blessing. π½I'm still shaken and don't feel like driving anytime soon. The thought of getting in a car makes me sick.

Just as I was starting to feel a bit better, the phone rang. It was the hospital where Jay is staying.
π₯
"Hello?" I answered, my heart racing.
π
"Hi, Ms. Edwards," the nurse said. "D'Angelo had a difficult day today. He became agitated and had to be put in isolation. We had to sedate him for his own safety because he attacked another person."
π₯΄π±
I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I was glad we hadn't visited, as it might have made things worse.
π©
"Thank you for letting me know," I said, trying to process everything.
π€―
As I hung up the phone, I realized that everything happens for a reason. Maybe this was a sign that I needed to take care of myself too. I'm grateful for our lives and the love of my family. Yesterday was a scary day, but it reminded me of what's truly important.
