"The Beauty of Repair"
"A Message to Those Who've Endured Trauma"
It's not your fault, survivor, that life's stormy sea
Crashed down on you, with waves of pain and misery
Not your fault that parents' struggles left you adrift
Without a lifeline, struggling to find your grip
Not your fault when predators lurked in the night
Preying on your innocence, leaving scars that still ignite
Like the touch that was meant to harm, not to heal
Or the words that cut deep, making your soul feel
Not your fault when love turned toxic, a poisonous snare
Leaving you trapped, gasping for air, with no escape to share
Like the fists that hit, the bruises that remained
Or the gaslighting that made you question your own sanity's frame
Not your fault when partners' lies and deceit
Left you shattered, a puzzle with pieces hard to repeat
Like the manipulation that made you feel so small
Or the emotional blackmail that made you feel so trapped in it all
Not your fault when life's weight crushed you to the ground
Leaving you to rise, again and again, without a sound
Like the neglect that left you feeling so alone
Or the bullying that made you feel like you were less than a stone
Not your fault when childhood memories still haunt
Traumatic experiences that left you feeling taunted
By the hands of those who should have protected you
Leaving you confused, with a childhood stolen from you
Not your fault when sexual abuse left you unsure
About the meaning of touch, and what love is for
When boundaries were crossed, and your body was violated
Leaving you with shame, and a heart that's still hesitated
Not your fault when you didn't heal, and let love turn cold
And allowed an abusive partner, back into your life to hold
Manipulation, physical and emotional abuse, again
A cycle repeated, a pain that wouldn't end
And not your fault, when your children witnessed the pain
Exposed to the same trauma, that you tried to escape in vain
The generational curse, of a childhood lost
A cycle of hurt, that you couldn't forestall
Remember, healing is possible, it's true
Take your time, survivor, and let your heart renew
Healing is like antibiotics, it takes time to work
Don't pick at the scars, or reopen old wounds, let it heal, don't disrupt
Everyone heals at different rates, don't compare your pace
Focus on your journey, and let your heart find its space
To heal, to mend, to recover, to renew
And know that you deserve love, peace, and a life that's brand new
You are strong, resilient, and capable too
Your worth and value come from within, shining bright and true
So hold on to hope, and never let go
You are not alone!! #NotAlone
Just as antibiotics need time to clear the infection
Your heart needs time to repair, to find its perfection
Don't rush the process!
