Unsilencing My Pen

 Hello,

I've been up since 5 am this morning. I did my morning blog post, then went straight to schoolwork. I had an assignment due today that I turned in last night, and I know I forgot to add periods at the end of some sentences - a silly mistake! But this afternoon, I received my first grade, and it was a complete 100. Many people wouldn't know that I've been a writer for over a decade. That's because I've always hidden my work and only let my family read them. They've been telling me for years to submit to writing contests and even writing festivals, but self-doubt and outsiders have held me back for so long. Even doing this blog was out of the box for me, but I started it in 2019. And what did I get? People who don't even know how to form a paragraph telling me that my work wasn't good enough! I see Tubi movies, and people are always picking on the quality of the movies. But that's production's fault! If you can get through to the end of those types of movies, there's usually a good storyline. But no one will even give the movie a chance because someone they know (or heard of) isn't in it. That's the world we live in, unfortunately.
I will continue to write, and I will get through these months in college. The professors have said it's very hard, but if you can get through it, it will be worth it; I am believing that for myself. My work is worthy, and I know it. My blog is a building block, and I will continue to push the boundaries on this blog until my first book comes out in November. And who knows after that?

I want to thank you all for reading my blog.
