Love in the Time of Crisis
I'm Back, and I've Got a Story to Tell
......
......
......
It's been a while since I last wrote, and I'm sorry for the silence. Life has been unpredictable, and my health has taken a turn for the worse. I've been experiencing episodes that leave me breathless, literally.
The last episode was the scariest. My children witnessed it, and I couldn't bear the thought of them seeing me like that. But amidst the chaos, something beautiful happened.
It happened on Sunday; when we visited my mother-in-law's house. We had a wonderful time, and my husband and I even shared some moments that sparked hope for our marriage. It was like old times. I felt alive again.
.........
.........
But the peace was short-lived. Jay had a violent breakdown, and I had to intervene. I was anxious, in pain, and my body felt like it was giving up. My mother-in-law helped me to the car afterwards and told my husband to go with us to help get home safely because of Jay's behavior. I was grateful for his presence, despite our complicated past.
"Are you okay?" my husband asked, looking at me with concern.
"I'm sick but I'll be fine. " I replied, trying to catch my breath. "I just need to get home."
As we drove, my hand started twitching, and my chest tightened. I asked my daughter to help me to the passenger's seat, and my husband went into a store. That's when everything went dark. I couldn't form words, and my body went limp. All I could think was, "Call my mama."
"Mama." Trying to reach for my phone.
💕💕""I thank God for my Mama!!""💕💕
Mama always knows what to do when I'm sick. She prayed over me, and I could smell her special oil. I came to, partially naked, in my bed, with Mama holding me. My husband was there too, and I couldn't believe it. He was scared to touch me at first, but I told him I was okay.
"I'm okay," I replied, smiling. "I'm just glad you're here."
We had an unbelievable night, and he stayed with me until he had to go to work. He even helped put the kids on the bus and cuddled with me some more. I'm grateful for his presence that day; I might not be writing this if he hadn't been there.
.....
.....
And as I look back on that day, I realize that sometimes it takes a crisis to bring us back to what truly matters – love, family, and the beauty of human connection.
