The Darkness Beyond Riverwood Drive
....
....
As she chatted with Tank on the phone, the signal began to fade.
"Tank, I'm losing you," Chelsea said, her voice laced with concern.
"...can't find...turn back..." Tank's words fragmented before the line went dead.
Chelsea groaned, tossing her phone onto the passenger seat. Darkness enveloped her, the only light coming from her car's headlights. She continued driving, hoping to find Tank's cabin soon.
Suddenly, her car sputtered and died. Chelsea was plunged into total darkness.
She waited, hoping the car would restart. Instead, footsteps crunched outside. A figure loomed beside her window, its features obscured by shadows.
Chelsea's heart raced as the figure opened her door. Strong hands grasped her arms, dragging her out.
"Let me go!" she screamed, struggling.
The figure remained silent, its grip unyielding. Chelsea's phone lay abandoned, its screen cracked on the passenger seat.
As she was pulled through the woods, twigs snapped beneath her feet. The figure tossed her into a dimly lit cabin. Chelsea landed hard on the wooden floor.
Raven, the figure, began to circle around her, his face twisted into a grotesque grin.
"You're a long way from home," Raven sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "No one will hear you scream."
Chelsea tried to scramble away, but Raven pinned her down.
"You're going to make a fine sacrifice," he whispered, his breath cold against her ear.
Chelsea's screams echoed through the cabin as Raven's torture began. He carved symbols into her skin, each cut burning with agony.
Just when Chelsea thought she'd pass out, Raven stopped.
"You're not done yet," he growled.
The door creaked open, and Tank stepped in.
"Welcome, Chelsea," Tank said, his eyes cold and detached. "You're just in time for the ceremony."
Raven resumed his chanting, the words weaving a hypnotic spell. Chelsea's mind fogged, her body numb.
Tank produced a small, ornate box. "This contains your destiny."
As Raven's chanting grew louder, Chelsea felt her will slipping away.
Tank opened the box, revealing a dark, pulsing artifact.
"Your soul will fuel our power," Tank whispered, his eyes gleaming.
Chelsea screamed, but her voice was drowned out by Raven's cacophonous chanting.
The ritual began.
Chelsea's screams echoed through the cabin, mingling with the sounds of the woods.
And then, silence.
Epilogue:
A lone hiker stumbled upon Chelsea's abandoned car, the engine still warm. The phone's cracked screen displayed a text message:
"Help me."
The hiker's eyes widened as they realized they weren't alone.
In the distance, a faint whisper carried on the wind: "Chelsea...ours now."
