Update on Jay- January 26th

⭐️Hello.⭐️

...
✨️Jay's actions have been causing concern the last few days -- physical altercations, disrespect towards teachers and his peers.

The facility is now considering a genetic blood test to determine which mental health medications Jay's body can absorb effectively. This development has left me wondering if Jay's release from the youth detention center was premature.

While it's unusual for an 11-year-old to be in a detention center, Jay's unpredictable behavior and history suggest that he may require more structured support. The facility has committed to working with him for a few months, but the possibility of Jay returning to the YDC remains a concern.

Thursday's staff meeting about Jay's behavior weighed heavily on my heart. Just hours later, Jay called from his therapist's office, but our conversation left me feeling frustrated. He didn't take responsibility for his actions, instead shifting the blame on others.

What struck me most was Jay's lack of engagement during our call. He was more focused on building blocks than listening to me. I tried to offer guidance, but he seemed disinterested.

I'm feeling overwhelmed, to be honest. Managing my own emotions while supporting Jay through his challenges is a lot to carry. But I'm reminding myself to surrender everything to God's hands. Trusting in a higher power brings me peace and helps me stay grounded, even in difficult moments. ✨️✨️
