Motherhood 🩷

My Mama didn't have her Mama near,
Passed away when she was just two years old, my dear.
She grew up with a stepmother, cold as stone,
Made it clear she wasn't her Mama, all alone.

My Mama yearned for a Mama's love,
A longing that stayed with her from above.
She went through trials, no child should face,
Until she had me, and a new love took its place.

I like to think I brought joy to her life,
A chance to rewrite the story, free from strife.
She was my rock, my guiding light,
Cooking, cleaning, and keeping everything right.

As I grew older, I became a second Mama too,
Helping my sister, seeing her through.
And when I had kids of my own, I knew,
The struggles, the joy, the love that shines through.

My Mama was there for me, every step of the way,
Through pregnancies, contractions, and sleepless nights' gray.
She became my best friend, my partner in crime,
Together we navigated motherhood's twists and turns in time.

Now, as a Mommy myself, I understand,
The sacrifices, the love, the tears, the joy that expands.
I want my children to know they're safe and sound,
That Mommy's here, always, never letting go, never backing down.

So here's to my Mama, and all the Mamas too,
Who show up, who love, who see their children through.
May our bonds be strong, our love forever true,
A tribute to motherhood, in all we do.
