A Morning of Chaos and Recovery

It's just lunchtime, and this day has already felt like an eternity. Last night was a blur of illness and discomfort – I'd forced myself to eat dinner despite not feeling up to it, only to spend the night battling stomach issues and pain. Sleep was redundant, with the tossing and turning.
Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse; Mia woke up complaining of stomach pain. The sound that followed was all too familiar – a hum then a frantic dash to the bathroom but she didn't make it. The night was a chaotic cycle of vomiting, cleaning, and trying to rest. When the school bus picked up my other daughters, I was exhausted, lying in bed, drained of all energy.
After what felt like an eternity, I mustered the strength to clear the bed, move Mia to my room, and notify her teacher that she wouldn't be attending school that day. As she rested on the sofa beside me, I ordered Gatorade and medications which she took so by 11 am, her vomiting had subsided, and she is watching her tablet, fever-free and claiming she feels better.
While I'm relieved she's on the mend, I'm still struggling to find my own strength. My body aches, and fatigue lingers. Despite the exhaustion, I know I'll need to get up soon to prepare for Keke's 13th birthday celebration – a special day I've been looking forward to. For now, I'm taking it one moment at a time!!
